Lavone asked,”How do I hear God’s Voice”

(Welcome to our beautiful Campus Lavone!)

Hearing God’s Voice is as simple as “!-2-3” Today, I would like to share a few tips to get you started.

God speaks:

1. Through His Word: While you are reading and a thought comes to mind and you understand when you didn’t before, that is an example of God’s voice.

2. In John 10, Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice.” Here, the word voice also means: music, and musical instruments. “Ever have a song come to thought?” The psalmist said, “Jesus sings over us in songs of deliverance.”

3. You will know God’s Voice by the Fruits of His Spirit: God’s voice is His Fruits (Gal. 5) He will never put you down; never shame you, and will always speak of Love. Conviction of the Holy Spirit will be an act of God’s goodness and love, to cause you to run to His love not tear you down to make you go to Him. Study His Fruits in Gal. 5, "You can never go wrong there."

If you want a little more, here are a few thoughts for advanced users:

1. The Holy Spirit—The voice of the Holy Spirit will always reveal Jesus: You will have a thought of Jesus fishing, or a parable He taught. All throughout God’s Word from beginning to end, the Holy Spirit desires to reveal Jesus.

2. Jesus-The voice of Jesus will always reveal the Father-“Daughter/Son don’t be worried My Father cares for the birds; the trees; the earth how much more will He care for you. My Father knows all things and He is Love.”

3. The Father-The voice of the Father will always speak of the Son, “This is Jesus, little children, follow Him; Hear Him;” at the same time the Voice of the Father will affirm the teachings of Jesus revealed to each one of us in the Word of God by the Holy Spirit.
